40 MINUTES OF FUN THAT TEACHES
01 MOVEMENT DRILLS
Class starts with several minutes of jiu-jitsu functional movement drills to get kids moving.
02 VERBAL DRILLS & CHALLENGES
Kids practice using their words first, with verbal drills and challenges that help them speak up with confidence.
03 REAL-WORLD SCENARIOS
Kids calmly walk through realistic situations they may face: bullies, mean kids, mean adults, and stranger safety and abduction prevention.
Learn it, then live it. Kids learn a jiu-jitsu technique and immediately practice how to use it in real life.
Kids are welcomed in by coaches who love kids and know how to connect with them.

Kids train in white gi pants and level shirts. Kingdom Leaders wear red shirts, and coaches wear black shirts with black gi pants.
Every drill and technique is practiced with a trained instructor or an advanced student we call a Kingdom Leader. Kingdom Leaders are chosen after years of training and go through a lengthy selection and training process. They're there to protect and encourage every child.

Every child is treated as an individual. Kids learn in different ways, and our coaches know it.
Kids who graduate to the Kids Gi class sometimes come back to help teach Bully Defense.

01 START IN BULLY DEFENSE
Every child starts here, so they aren't overwhelmed by the many jiu-jitsu techniques and their body can safely get used to moving and falling.

02 4 COLOR-SHIRT LEVELS
Kids earn 4 color-shirt promotions, showing their techniques against an instructor in a public demonstration. Our class-tracking system moves each child to the next level based on their attendance.

Kingdom Jiu-Jitsu started 17 years ago in a small church in Garland. Our heart hasn't changed: we want every person who walks in to feel loved, valued and believed in.
Bully Defense is led by a team of 6 adult coaches and 10 Kingdom Leaders, under owners Eddie and Cristina Saenz.
We're an affiliate of the Lovato Jiu-Jitsu Association and teach a professional program designed by World Champion Rafael Lovato Jr. Members also get our online training program, so kids can review their techniques at home before every promotion.
Our mission for kids is simple: build confidence and respect, and give them another place they call home.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF JIU-JITSU FOR KIDS?
Our mission for kids is simple: build confidence and respect. In Bully Defense, kids practice movement drills, verbal drills and real-life scenarios, so they learn to use their words first and to stay safe if they have to. Jiu-jitsu is grappling, never punching or kicking. Kids grow by earning 4 color-shirt promotions (white, gray, yellow and orange) before moving up to the Kids Gi class, and members can review their techniques at home with our online program.
IS IT SAFE? WILL MY CHILD GET HIT?
No striking. Jiu-jitsu is grappling: controlling a partner with leverage, never punching or kicking. Kids learn how to fall safely, and every drill is practiced with a trained instructor or a Kingdom Leader, an advanced student selected and trained to protect and encourage each child. All adult coaches and staff are background checked and complete CPR and first-aid training every quarter.
CAN I STAY AND WATCH?
Yes! Most parents do.
WHAT AGES IS THIS FOR?
Bully Defense and Kids Gi are for ages 4-13. Teens 14 and up join our all-levels classes.
WILL THIS MAKE MY CHILD AGGRESSIVE?
The opposite. Kids learn to use their words first and only defend themselves if they have to. Respect is part of every class.
DOES MY CHILD NEED EXPERIENCE?
No. No martial arts or jiu-jitsu experience is needed. Our system is built to grow a total beginner.
WHY DOES EVERY CHILD START IN BULLY DEFENSE?
So they aren't overwhelmed by the many techniques of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. It's also a safer way for a child's body to slowly get used to the physical challenges of moving and falling.
