Our Kids Bully Defense Program is much more than a typical kids martial arts class.

We love to have fun while learning how to deal with bullies, building confidence, and learning the fundamentals of jiu-jitsu.

Our experienced, friendly coaches love kids and know how to connect with them.

At Kingdom Jiu-Jitsu, your child is accepted in our family-friendly atmosphere. Your child will be treated as an individual, because we understand kids have different learning styles, and different strengths and weaknesses.

“The instructors are actually having fun as they teach. Such a positive environment for kids.”

-Barbara F.

“I cannot begin to explain what a blessing this school has been in our lives."

-Jomie R

“Kingdom is the most positive, uplifting, kid friendly, loving place to be.”

-JAllenda W.

Developing self-defense techniques that deescalate a possible confrontation is key. Jiu-Jitsu focuses on non-striking skills to control an attacker by taking them to the ground to minimize danger.

Self-defense moves focus on take-downs, top and back control, how to fall and to safely control any situation.

This approach is perfect for kids, teaching them verbal skills to avoid a physical confrontation but also how to keep themselves safe if one does arise.

“I was really impressed by this anti-bullying program because they teach kids to use their words first to de-escalate.”

With school responsibilities, confronting bullies or just making friends, kids today have a lot to deal with. The Kids Bully Defense Program can help your child with all of this.

Learning highly effective self-defense skills is a terrific way for kids to build confidence in every aspect of their lives. It also helps improve fitness, flexibility, focus and friendship.

“He needed an outlet. Jiu-jitsu is a healthy way for him to just let it out in the right way.”

Learning how to respect others is a core focus of the Bully Defense Program. The physical nature of jiu-jitsu creates an atmosphere of discipline and respect for others.

Kids learn how to trust others, giving and receiving respect. Some kids who graduate the class into the full kids gi class return to the Bully Defense class to help teach.

“Jiu-jitsu is something that you can always keep improving. It’s an exercise and it’s beneficial in real life."

Why Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the Perfect Martial Art for Kids

“Jiu-Jitsu” can be translated as “the gentle art.” If you’re concerned about your child being punched or kicked, that’s not jiu-jitsu.

Yes, jiu-jitsu is certainly a physical activity, but the techniques focus on grappling and controlling another person with leverage. So, it's a great kids self-defense against bullies.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) philosophy and techniques have evolved for more than 100 years, and the art dates to the Japanese samurai warriors. BJJ began as a way for a smaller person to control and overcome a bigger opponent.
